It is estimated that Black school principals comprise a mere 2% of the total number of k-12 school principals in Ontario (ONABSE, 2015). This presentation shares preliminary findings of a descriptive qualitative study of five (5) Black school principals in the Greater Toronto Area of Ontario. In this presentation, we will discuss the issues of diversity through the lens of transformational leadership theory, focusing on Black educational leaders and their work to impact change within their schools.
